Waramin (Varamin) is a region carpet production, 50 km southeast of Tehran, which is hardly active these days. The reason is probably the expensive production costs in this city. 

At the beginning of the 20th century, carpet factories emerged in Waramin - as well as in Qom. Therefore, the similarity to Persian carpets from Qom is no coincidence. The coloring and pattern of the Waramin carpets make it seem likely that weavers from Waramin were keeping an eye on those in Qom. For Waramin, however, what is special is that the Mina Chaneh design is largely woven, which resembles a bed of daisies. The all-over design without a medallion impresses with its wealth of detail. Hand-knotted carpets made from Waramin are very robust and durable.
