The SD808 is an adaption of the original analog snare circuit from the original TR-808, updated for use in a Eurorack modular system. Like its predecessor, the SD808 produces snappy analog snare sounds. These sounds are produced by a mix of two oscillating sine waves and a noise source. Far from being confined a one-trick pony, the SD808 is capable of sounds extending well beyond those of a typical snare drum, especially when under voltage control.

Each input contains a dual pulse-shaper circuit that lets users send trigger or gate signals to the module, ensuring stability regardless of the pulse source (i.e., sequencers, clock dividers, etc.). This makes creating analog drum patterns and sequences within a Eurorack ecosystem both fun and easy.
